These champagne cups come in 2 sizes.
Standard Beaded Champagne Cups
The Standard Beaded champagne cup is quite large at 275 and the large at 350 is huge, these cups are plain polished silver in the inside not gilded and they have a nice rope beadwork around the base, the rim is a square lip and easy to drink from. we sell both in sets of 12, the standard cup fits perfectly in our Field Tantalus.
Large Beaded Champagne Cups
This is a larger version of the Standard Beaded Champagne Cup, at a capacity of 350 ccs for most it is probably too large for champagne (but of course, not for the enthusiast) and it looks most impressive on the table .
It stands a stately 9.5 cms tall and 8.5cms across the top. It has a nice square rim, plain polished on the inside, and the most magnificent of cups – I have sold several as water glasses for an elegant shoot lunch room.
These cups are not gilded, whilst gilding is very attractive it does interfere with the colour of the contents and this cup gives an option to those who simply prefer not to have gilding.
All of our cups come with a handstitched case. We are rather proud of these as no one else makes such a quality case. Years ago I realised that the usual Jewellers type case was made to a price and just didnt stand up to use. The problem is that the cups are used in the field! This means that the dregs are left in the cups and these seep out onto the inside of the case during the rest of the day and by 6 o’clock (surely not the next day) it is impossible to wash off. The sloe gin has now penetrated the leather and the rot literally sets in – result – a disintegrating and horrible case that marks the plating on the cups.
The solution is to spend a bit of money on a lined case. Our Handstitcher uses a form of best Sedgewicks Bridle leather in Dark Havana and lines it with a contrasting pigskin (usually green or havana brown ) with the finished side towards the cups – result – this case can be put under the tap and washed out with warm soapy water and each time the case comes up clean with no stickiness left.
With each set of cups I include a double cleaning cloth together with cleaning instructions.
We usually block in gold in 16 point (5 mm high) Engravers Roman – capitals for initials and a combination of upper and lower case for Shoot names. This size is discrete, legible and impressive. Please discuss your requirements.
