This cover is designed to stay on the rifle until it is called into use, the cover is held in place over the rifle with 3 straps fastened by solid brass Sam Browne studs – these straps are easy and quiet to undo and their removal takes no more than 20 seconds.
The shaped topside of the cover is closed, as is the section from the leather blocked muzzle to the first sling swivel, the rest of the underside is open to allow the rifle to be placed into the cover. The bottom opening ( 3/4 of the underside ) is closed by the 3 leather straps which fold under the rifle and secure to Sam Browns studs on the other side of the cover. There is an overlap on the underside to stop the ingress of rain water.
I think the photos will show how it works – it is simplicity itself.
After removal, the cover folds up into a neat 6″ roll which is secured by one of its own straps; the rolled cover can then be attached by a brass spring clip to your belt or Roe sack.
This lightweight cover is available in either olive green or foxy brown waterproof canvas, all fittings are solid brass and the leather is bridle hide.
The slip is quite close fitting so an accurate outline and 5 measurements are required to make it.
The measurements in cms or inches are taken from the muzzle:
A – Distance to front sling swivel.
B – Distance to front of scope.
C – Distance to rear of scope.
D – Distance to rear slings swivel.
E – Overall length of rifle.
