Born in Weardale in the North East of England, Emily has grown up with the wildlife in the area. In recent years she became more aware of the struggles many of our upland birds are facing due to the growing human population, climate change and the subsequent loss of their habitat.

This book captures the variety of species that depends on the upland areas and shows how this managed grouse moor does more than simply hold grouse. This book shows her passion for educating people on our uplands and why they are so special.
